Life Happens

Hi all, sorry it has been a while since I last posted, my husband's father has had some health issues and time has become ever so precious.

My father in law is 90, almost 91, and we think he had a heart attack a few weeks ago (he would not allow the hospital to do enough testing to find out what exactly was going on), and he was/is bleeding internally. Given that he was living alone we moved him to my brother in laws house and are now in the process of getting his house rented. Since my sister in law is taking care of my father in law, I am going to be working on the house for the next month or so, which means my posting will not be as frequent as usual.

Sort of a hard time for us right now, we lost my husbands mother 11 years ago, and now with his dad we are all feeling many, many emotions. My husbands family is small and very close knit, he, his brother and father spend much of their free time together, and it is hard for all of us to see "Pops" take such a turn for the worse.

Up to a few weeks ago he was living alone and driving, and now that has all changed, so quick, and we are hopeful that with good care he can be with us for years more.

Anyhow, that is why I have not posted much lately, but I do have some links for you : ) (Whenever I can I try to surf and save stuff for when I can post).

Oh, and before I forget, a couple of "News" items: The company that makes H20 Twinkling (Luminarte) is going out of business! If you want to stock up, now is the time, visit this blog for more information. The store associated with the blog has the H20's at half price right now, and all orders placed by February 22 will be filled.

Also, another one of my favorite products is also going away, Moon Glow Mica Powder. Click here to find out how you can order some before they are no longer available.

And finally, here are some links for you, and I also have a few cards to share with you after the links:

Just A Scrappin': Great blog with all sorts of stuff, like this color picker website, and this link to free downloadable paper.

Pink Tulle with Feathers and Sequins: Wow, I just LOVE her cards, and she has all sorts of great information on rubber stamps as well.

Slice Challenge Blog: Great information for those of you who have the slice, wonderful inspirations, and for those who have not yet decided to purchase the Slice this blog will give you a pretty good idea of what the Slice can do.

Cuttlebug Challenge Blog
: Have a cuttlebug? Then you really need to visit this blog, great ideas and all sorts of wonderful things to see.

And I have been making cards, here are a couple that I made, one using the melted crayon method I posted in January, and the other one is a birthday card I made for my Hubby's Uncle:

Thank you Maylee. It is a hard time to say the least, but I am hopeful that my father in law will be with us for many more years : )

My dad passed away two years ago, so I know that this is indeed a hard time. Blessings and peace to you and your family.

I am sorry you and your family are going through this with your FIL. I have been down this road before and it is not easy and some times seems to be all consuming. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for this post it has a lot of great info.
