Exploding boxes and other fun stuff ; )

Sorry I have been neglecting my blog, we have been working on my father in laws house, and finally we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. I was amazed at how much stuff we had to get rid of, and how much work the place needed: new wall texture, everything has to be painted, new carpets, new stuff in the bathroom upstairs, new counter in the kitchen and eventually a thorough cleaning.

And poooooor Roxy, she had another surgery on Sunday (that makes THREE so far), and yes, she is still wearing a cone. One area of her wound just will not heal. If the current stitching does not close up the wound she will have to stay at the vets for 10 to 14 days....sigh.

So, onto stamping stuff (which is actually the purpose of this blog : ).

I found this website, Magic Boxes, on exploding boxes and just HAD to make one! They are so much fun to make, time intensive, but the results are really neat. The woman who makes the boxes has a tutorial up, very easy to follow, and this was my result:

I had so much fun with this box, hope you get a chance to make one, or two yourself.

Though there haven't been many new posts, I have been surfing and finding things, like this blog, Hop Art Studio, with a really cool tutorial on how to use both your Copics and colored pencils to color in your images, really neat effect.

And how would you like to get a free stamp? All you have to do is submit a card or project to Inkadinkado, using their stamps, and they will send you a stamp from their grab bag, pretty cool if you ask me.

Here is a GREAT video on how to color an image with colored pencils:

If you liked that video, there is a whole bunch more by Stampendous, click here to see the entire list.

Found a template link that allows you to put your own dimensions in to make a tuckbox for a deck of cards. I can think of some neat ways to use this template, and here are some more along the same lines if you want more templates about this size.

Here is a template for a small gift bag, and if you want to be creative, check out how this person used junk mail to decorate the bag.

Click here for a great place to find all sorts of templates for invitations, complete with directions.

And while this is not a stamping site, I am always on the look out for home made gifts, and these gifts in a jar are easy to make and are fun to decorate with rubber stamping.

Hopefully I will be able to post again later this week, shooting for Thursday, until then, have a wonderful day everyone : )

Great project! I love the video tutorial on the colored pencils. I have a hard time with snowmen. I love them and they are so cute but they are challenging for me to come up with some dimension to them. That video helped me a lot! TFS!
